Hey I need some help with this I don't kno if its a safety feature that some cars have but whenever I push the gas hard the RPM will go to 2000 then all of sudden jump to like 4500 to 6000 rpm and the car will not accelerate as fast I have to pump the gas pedal twice then it accelerates fast any tips I have a jag v8 2002 I just want to be able to punch the gas pedal all the way down and fly fast any tips

 

Are you sure it's not just kickdown

 

If you are doing this in “N” or “P” the car is equipped with a limiter to prevent over revving. If you are in gear and your RPM are limited see if you have an indicator saying Restricted Performance or Fail Safe and if you do read the codes and post them.

I have no error codes the car is in drive .. For example lets say I'm merging into the high I'm accelerating from 60 120 and during that process because I punched the gas pedal hard the rpm revs but the car doesn't seem to accelerate unless I push the gas pedal down twice like jerk it twice then it picks up and flys .....
