Bob - by "box" did you mean one for the ACM? (If not, then what?)

Bob,

The ACM Box just has a USB plug on it, and the "jack" is a Male - Female Extension cable.

If whoever installed yours decided they didnt care for USB, they very well may have left the cable out...

See the attached image for details:

Take care,

George

Yes. I have the interface portion mounted in the center console with only the Ipod cable & connector coming out of it, the RCA aux inputs and the selector switch. No light. The couple of instructions files I looked at show something similar to what George posted. The main box that connects to the head unit is supposed to mount near the bottom at the back of where the head unit resides in the dash. Well I just have cables coming and going to/from the head unit and then to and from the interface box in the console that has the switch. The cables disappear under the carpet and re-emerge to go into the center console. That's why I think the main box maybe under the carpet or something?

Maybe I have a mystery drug smuggling compartment under there!

When I took this stuff apart I couldn't get into pulling it apart anymore than that. I'm reluctant to remove the carpet without knowing exactly what I need to do. Modern cars can a royal PITA these days when it comes to those fragile plastic securing clips. I also have a very limited workspace at the moment.

I expect I'll find the darn thing eventually. It's a bit odd to have "left out" the USB though.

The USB has folder/file size and format limitations anyway. With the AUX-Input and a MP3 (a misnomer in my case) player that's all a none issue now.

Have you pulled out the ashtray? Judging by the lengths of the cables and the room in these cars, I doubt it's under the carpet on the floor. My guess is under the ashtray, OR on the driver's side underneath the dash right under the ignition switch.

Take care,

George

Yes. You have to pull out the entire ashtray unit to get at everything and remove the head unit/touch screen. It's not in there. Just the wires.

When I get a bit more space and a nice warm, relaxed day I'll disassemble more and find just where they hid the darn thing. I suppose I should have the USB available even if only for updating the firmware. You never know when I might want to hook an Ipod or something. It be nice if it worked as best as it can in that event.

I never pulled my ashtray out to get to the head unit. Easiest thing to do I guess is follow the cables and start dissasembling.... There aren't many plastic clips in the interior, it's actually pretty solidly assembled.

Take care,

George

Well I know I really should but at the moment everything is working the way I want it to on the sound system front.

Some warranty items not so good.

I'd leave it alone, too, if it were mine! (Better is the enemy of ...)
