Default How often do you roll a J while driving?

Roll the J-gate around that is.

While cruising at sustained highway speed a stab to half throttle doesn't seem to drop her into third as I'd like so I've been playing with quick shifting into 3rd and the response and acceleration has been good; I can hit third gear redline. Also while highway cruising in 6th gear in normal mode a quick flip to 5th and back to D is all you need to break overdrive & get some passing speed ... no need to really even press the pedal. Keeping her in 2nd while stuck in traffic is also a nice way to utilize engine braking and reduce braking & shifting.

How do you guys use the J gate if at all?

Sometimes around town I will switch it over. Makes me kinda think I have a manual again.

I do exactly that because then you know when and how it's going to shift. I'm not a big fan of the automatics own decision methodology.

It's really great for "Zig Zag" maneuvers too ...

For just a moment there I thought that question was from a different decade.

And the answer was never.

Rolling the J is the only way to "smoke" the competition.

I can only blame myself for the lack of serious replies!

My STR isn't able to "vaporize" the competition anyway; something is making it "take a hit" in performance (as illustrated in previous threads)

No it's a joint effort. I did ask people to stop but it appears that isn't going to happen. So you'll just have to weed out the non-serious replies while you hash over which are the good ones. OMG I'm making myself sick

Default Get a Manual Shift

Ah the joys of automatic motoring. Now with a manual box
I just press the clutch move from 5th to 3rd and we're off, even in a lowly 2.5
Have you not got the "S" button to use, i,e, sports mode.
That should help you show a clean pair of heels!!!
Compliments of the Season to you all.
Regards,
Inver.
