Thanks to all who posted info and links on how to repair the visors. All done, work great. On to the next item on the "getting to know you" list for my 2001 xk8!

Just seeing this now having had the problem with the hinge on the passenger mirror side. For those of us who do not have bolt cutters, sanders, and the other basic shop tools to do this, could I send mine to anyone for a repair?
