I知 about to call calf rope
I don稚 know what to do.
I have a 2004 Jaguar S type and I replaced the air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor and that痴 it. It started just fine when I tried it. But then I disconnected the battery and reconnected it, and now it won稚 start. The lights work, panel, windows etc all work fine, but it doesn稚 crank or start. I can稚 move it from park and the P won稚 light up, the security light on the dash only flashes once, and the fuse box clicks when I try to start it. And if I leave the key on, there is like a whirring sound from the engine.
I知 at a complete loss and I have searched these over and over but can稚 find a solution. Any suggestions?

The very first thing I'd do is check the battery voltage. Most of the symptoms sound like a partially discharged battery. Measure directly on the battery posts. You should see at least 12.6 volts. If not, charge the battery and try again.
Another thing to check is the two small bolts that attach the gear selector cable assembly to the side of the transmission. If these come loose, the car does not know what gear it is supposed to be in and the "inhibitor switch" (neutral safety switch) may be preventing the car from starting...
