Default I need a good Cold air intake!! ASAP!! Whats good

My K&N just cracked on the way to work does anyone know who makes the best aftermarket intake? All I could find is the one from Mina Gallery. Are there others?

Look on the stickies! Thier is a guy on here that makes'em. Not sure if it'll fit the non-R V8 or not. But worth checking into it.

Have you searched, it runs in my mind that someone was talking about intakes fairly recently.

Could you expound upon what cracked, exactly? Perhaps a repair is possible. A pic is worth a thousand words in this case.

There isnt anything better then the stock airbox setup N/A or FI, I make the center section elbow for power gains.

Catniped, go for the "Mafioso" air intake elbow. What cracked? Was it the stock airbox (holds flat panel filter)?

It was the elbow on the oe box. Not repairable. It's big and on one of the folds. Plus it's an excuse to upgrade.

Do you have a pic of it? How much? What kind of power gains am I looking at? Where is it located?

See.... Another lesson.... Post in one thread...

Like I told ya in your other thread..Yup, the rubber intake runner on these sucks...Tears... then sucks air.. Not good.

For an emergency fix..Silicone the tear..NOT PERMANENT..

Then get Mafioso to make you up an intake pipe..

Take some pictures of the damaged part... You may also get by with some parts from Autozone in the "Make my own tuner intake" section...Again, go with a quality product as a permanent fix, and one of the others as a temporary (stop the codes) fix.

Sounds great and all but all I've heard is how hard the guy worked to make it. Don't get me wrong I totally support that and want to but at the moment the pics I've see just look like some guys back yard quick fix.

You've got to give us more than that.
Proven horsepower gains
Pics of product after powder coat
Pics of product installed
Shipping cost. and etc.

Once again. That is so cool that you made that and I want to support you but I can't justify spending that kind of money on something so raw. If you the manufacturer please...more info.

Umm..Did you actually read through the whole thread??

Many installed pictures....

What kind of HP do you really think you get from an intake tube???

They improve throttle response, but really don't "make" HP....

The big thing about that intake tube is cost vs. other sources..... But I digress.. I'll let others deal with this.... I'm out..

Catsniped, you "Want" the "Mafioso" air intake elbow (hint-hint). It works well in throttle response and helps the motor develop more hp. Ask anyone here how they feel the "Mafioso" air intake elbow helped their STR.

Are you looking at the right thread? Cause you surely cant be making those comments about the Mafioso intake tube. If so then you arent going to be satisfied with any intake so you might as well just run no filter. You arent going to get much better then Mafiosos intake. I dont think it will work on your car anyways cause I believe its only made for the R's.
Doesnt look like some backyard job under my hood.

Yes that is the Riski Red intake. RIP. I need to take a better video with my good camera. That was just my cell phone. I may look at a camera mount and get some better videos of the whine.

I witnessed a few Mafioso intakes side by side recently, different colors as well. One thing I will say is there is no "backyard" about them, they are as professional as they come!

Very nice work Mafioso!!!

OP, post Mafioso. Ask him about the possibility of fabricating an air intake elbow for the n/a 4.2
