Smile I'd Love To Love My JAg

This is my third post ,not an attempt to impress or entertain,my sense of humor is deplorable,so I'll stick to the question.Same Jag ,2003 SType 3.0L 50,000 Miles. With the wamer season few weeks away(Chicago,Illinois there is) I'm planning to drive this car a little more often,I don't want my Cat to die a Virgin! Here is my dilemma:I can seat confortably in the driver cockpit no problem at all,I suspect that in this sequence Gravity plays a big favorable role,HOWEVER exiting the just completed Mario Andretti state of mind my car seat won't set me free(In my Country Freedom is a much discussed topic) So I ask is there a way to install a "Grab Handle" to the front left roof pillar?I'm asking for suggestions because I know that if I jump in uninformed I'll end up with few holes thru the car roof. I've on some instance I've telephoned my brother in law to wait for my arrival so I can be extracted from the car.(I actually only weight 202 lbs,not a record for my age and by American Standards)Any suggestions will be geatly appreciated.Thanks.

i suspect you cannot because the pillar mounted air bag is mounted behind the pillar cover .
and it needs to blow the cover off when deployed .

You can get a door assist exit handle for 6.95 to 38.95 and no drillng required. They work very well and you stuff it in the glove box when not needed.

May I ask how tall you are because I am a few pounds (quite a few heavier) and I can get out of my car and I have sport seats fitted. It took me few attempts to Learn how to do it and it is now no problem. Like all good things it's a case of trail and error.

Reduced mobility?

Have you adjusted the seat? (Some have a lot of movements.)

Just swing legs round with skirt hitched up. I've never complained at whatever may be on view...

My seat automatically slides back to assist with entering & alighting the car, as soon as I put the key in the ignition. Doesn't yours? Or do require more room? I've always felt sorry for anyone behind me in the backseat, & I warn them before removing the key. As an aside, I'm only 5'4" & my seat's set accordingly. My mechanic is at least 6'5" & the first time he got in the car & put the key in the ignition, the damn seat nearly folded him in half! I had a big problem not laughing & there was lots of tongue chewing LOL
Good luck with your problem.

At 5'4 you probably don't need it so could turn it off - at least when you have a person behind you.

Sure - see handbook, but it's Auto setting on that switch on the steering column that turns it on.

I see you have a 2002 with a 3.0. There is one for sale here and I was wondering if you have had any issues with this model? Thanks.
