On an '05, open the sunglass compartment, have a T20 screw driver and remocve 1 T20 screw, its located towards the front of the sunglass compartment. Tilt console down and slide out.
Again this is for a 2005 vehicle, yours could be different because you haven't stated year, model, engine in your profile.

There are a few threads that discuss replacing those bubls with LEDs. There are detailed instructions regarding removing that console... FWIW, it can be a real PIA. You have to apply much more brute force than you would imaging to get it down.

I tried to search for LED replacement but only found dashboard LED's. So I need to take out sunglasses box and then brutally take down console... I tried to take id down today but not removing sunglasses bx first. I pulled it very hard but I thought that I could break it!?
Can you post the thread for LED change?

I am now really thinking do I really need to open the Dome Light box!?
As described I see that it is really hard to do that... I have managed to change bulbs with LED in the boot! Single LED wide beam in trunk door and 8 LED on left side of trunk! Can I make the same light box from left side and put in in the carpet on the right side and connecting of those two will be easy?
Do you have pictures of your cars interior now to show me how It looks like now when it is all LED light???
That would really help!

3rd Rear Brake Light...LED conversion
How do you change 3rd rear brake light light? How to get to it because on S-Type 2000-2001 it is easy to reach but on my 2005 it is under rear "book shelf" hard to reach!?
