Default Installing navigation

Does anyone know how to install and activate factory navigation in a 2000 S-Type? Is it even wired for it

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to S-Type forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

The CD based NAV was NEVER a dealer installed option!! (it was ordered as an option from the factory)
If you want to attempt the install I would suggest finding a COMPLETE parts car to have ALL the components/harnesses to transfer and install.
Then you will need one (or ALL) of the 9 Navigation Compact Discs (NOT DVD) for USA. Each CD has a different area of the US, so if you travel to another area, you need to have THAT CD for the new location. The last CD I am aware of was made in about 2002.

The X202 (2003MY) introduced the DVD based NAV. Even DVD NAV is mostly useless as new roads and Housing Developments are built, the NEW areas are NOT displayed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You need to buy a NEW DVD every few years and Jaguar Parts used to charge about $800 EACH NAV DVD. (even these are NLA)

The CDs were a little less expensive but are now NLA.

Good luck with your endeavor, but I feel it will end in futility! I would liken it to gathering all the parts and building a 'tube-type' television set. (no practical value)

thank for the info. I already have got the display and module. I though all I needed was an antenna. The car not being wired for it is a big problem! and it looks like that is not the only one. Do you think I could find an after market to fit and work!

You might remove the NAV screen unit in the console 'cluster' and find something MODERN to fit in it's place??
