Default Intake Baffle Removal

I know how to remove it. Just wondering what the benefit is, if there is one.

If you mean the WOT flap inside the airbox, possibly more cool air.

I was wondering more about any performance gains and if there is a tradeoff. Sounds like there is not much reason to do it.

I meant to add a question mark as I wasn't sure. When I used to be on the Xterra forums as a former Xterra owner, people claimed that removing same increased the noise. Not so sure on the STR. Was just a guess lol!

It simply adds more sound (the exhaust headers are also miles from the tips) and it might possibly let more cool air in. If you like blower whine (I sure as hell do) then take 5 minutes to do this mod.

Won't get you anything but hey we don't have any mods as it is!!

Maybe block the noise vents in the blower?? Then you really will get that SC scream!!

Its easy enough to reinstall if I don't like it. I think I'll pull it out and see how it sounds. I personally love the SC whine.
