Intermittent engine problem
Hi all, I have a 2002 S type 2.5 V6 with a strange intermittent problem. Starts 1st turn of the key every time and runs fine until it gets warm – then sometimes on short journeys the car will start to play up. At around 1800 to 2100 it starts to behave as if it is being starved of fuel and will not pull away – turn the engine off and back on again the problem goes away for a short time. On long journeys the fault is as above but then remains a more permanent problem and will not pull at all.
Has anyone experienced this problem as can anyone suggest a fix
Thanks

Have you done the simple things?
How old is the fuel filter?
What if any maintenance has been done? The car is now old. You are most likely not the original owner so if it has just been driven you might have multiple problems.
Have you checked for any codes?

At a guess his VIN is soon after M45254 and he's in UK (also a guess).
Yes, read codes. Report them and whether P1111 or P1000 as well. Then check LTFT, per bank, engine hot, parked, at idle & 2500 rpm.
