I have an S type on a 53 plate. Every now and again when I start out there is no power at all. If it wasn't an automatic, it wouldn't move at all.

Eventually, after switching on and off, it powers up.

Help please

 

Not much to go on but trace power through till you find the culprit.

 

You'll have to forgive me, but my mind-reading skills aren't what they used to be.

Are you saying the car has no electrical power when you first get in? Even the dash lights, radio, dome light, etc? How about the P, N, D, etc. on the shifter J-gate? Does anything happen at all when you turn the key to run and then start?

Or are you saying after starting the engine, it is has little power to drive away? Your statement about the automatic has me puzzled.

Also, a little background will help, too. New problem? Old? Any recent work done? Daily driver or summer weekend toy? How old is the battery? Shoe size?

 

And what year is a 53 plate?
