My guess is that you need a new fuel filter.
My X-Type once suddenly died on me all of a sudden - and when I tried to restart, the engine run very minimalistic - stepping on the gas was not possible - it would die immediately again. I'd say you are describing exactly that...
PS: The S-Type fuel filter is located behind the front left wheel arch liner. Swapping it is quite easy with one of those cheap plastic tools made for that purpose. But it is not impossible to swap the filter without that tool, if you make something similar start with a cut-off of an aluminium pipe of the right size - but having the proper tool makes things a lot easier.

They did readout and i don't remember code, but it was something with faulty camshaft sensor
Can that occur sudden ?
And next moment it fires op and runs ok
Afer waiting on towtruck for about 1 hour it fires up directly on 6 cylinder
I got no warning engine light
By the way is s type mk1 280000 km build 2000
Before guessing and replacing parts, begin your diagnosis by determining the available voltage.
With the ignition switch in the OFF position for thirty minutes or longer, use a voltmeter to read the available voltage across the battery terminals. There should be a minimum of 12.6 volts available for all the modules and systems to function correctly. If the voltmeter indicates less than 12.6 volts, charge the battery for three to five hours at 2 to 5 amps and retest. If the voltmeter still indicates less than 12.6 volts, the battery is suspect and should be replaced. Many electrical 'gremlins' and random DTCs or instrument cluster warnings are the result of a failing or weak battery.
Which engine is fitted to the vehicle? The 3.0 litre, or 4.0 litre V8?

After long waiting our car is ,very fast, go on transportation to Netherlands
Its is now at Jaguar dealer in Oosterhout Holland
They gonna look at it....
Maybe s tip to everyone don't know how its aranged
In Holland we have a service called anwb. Who helps when you are stranded
When you are outside your country they arange send back your car if not can be fixed in reasonable time you get a loan car
Here we must be aware that they don't happy to help if you are by old car like s type is

The Jaguar dealer has trying to read out
Unfortunately they had fire early this year so all old equipment is gone

Its now going to a company that only does old jags....

Jag is now at Jaguar specialist who only does old jags
For now it runs ok how i don't know
The camshaft variable timing thing is not ok
Although he said mostly it keeps running ok with that...
But I'm gonna let it replaced
Including al rolls at multy belt
They dont wanna mount my parts that i have
Like hoses water pump ect so i can do that my self
Strange he said airco not cooling in France at 30 C it was ok one week ago
Trembling from brake's they say its from back i had feeling its was at front
But fact thats running good again is that engine is not complete bad
Poor maintenance from previous owner
Jag is now at Jaguar specialist who only does old jags
For now it runs ok how i don't know
Please keep in mind an older Jaguar like ours is not some exotic brand. Much of the engine controls and other functions are very similar to Ford models of the same era. There are not many systems on the car that require a brand-specific specialist. A Jaguar specialist is great, but if inconvenient to get to that particular shop, any competent facility should be able to handle most issues.

Do you have the actual codes that were reported? It should be a single letter followed by 4 numbers, such as P1388.
If you are getting codes P1383 and/or P1388, take a look at this thread:
It's a long thread, but well worth a read. In short, these codes are a known problem on the early V6. Jaguar even modified the software to reduce nuisance codes. In particular, please see my experience in post #42 for what could be a very simple "fix" worth considering.

My braking problem come from rear he gonna replace it
Also replacement of gearbox oil and filter
Check off diff has enough oil
Get a new key and fob as i now have 1
Adjust in computer that doors don't lock when you drive because when you stop it unlocks most of time not
On drive side thats no problem you can open it
On passenger side not unless i unlock it at Driver side it locks and unlock normal when i put it locked/ unlocked
I had do do coolant hoses waterpump
And all rolls at front
