Default Jailbreak Tune:

Wondered if anyone had the jailbreak tune on an STR? Been talking to Dave over at GSR Technik in Philly about a custom map! Company seems pretty legit with lots of pics and videos and also dyno graphs of their work. He says I would be looking at around 50 hp and 60 tq with his tune. Anyone?

You get that much power without a pulley?
Sounds almost too good to be true!

Would be interested to know how this turns out. I know we've been waiting on a proper tune for the STR for years.

The gains mentioned for a tune shows they have no knowledge of the STR.

Glad you said that Avos, because I have never heard of anyone ever being able to re-tune a top-of-the-line Jag engine and get another 50 hp. Jag has never left much on the table, and can't see why the STR would be any different.

But it would be great if somehow...

Well I had the car on the dyno in the spring and it put down 347whp and 359wtq on 93 octane. Mods were K&N filter, Caldofy intake tube, Mina cat-back exhaust! I have since installed the Mina 1.5lb pulley. So this tune will be up next! Then dyno again! I believe in this company and have seen many dyno results on Jag's, BMW, Mercedes, Maseratti, etc... The numbers don't lie! However he has only had the newer Jag's like F-type and XF-R on there. So it looks like I will be the guinea pig for our cars!

Jailbreak have been successful with the 5.0L cars because that engine/ECU combo leaves a lot on the table from the factory, if you completely removed all the limitations in the ECU program and put it to the ragged edge then 700hp from the 5.0L would be possible (for a couple of runs at least, before it went bang).

The 4.2L is a very different animal. 50hp from a tune alone is impossible, even tune + pulley, not a chance for 50hp.

As Avos said, to claim those gains means they have no experience with a 4.2...
