Default Jtis help!

Hey Guys and Dolls,
I am having problems opening my JTIS CD I purchased from Advance Auto a few weeks back. I have been at this thing for the past two weeks and cannot open the repair section at all, despite the "READ ME" file and following it step by step and the internet and forum help that's out there. I really need a manual before I start on the replacement of a thermostat housing/outlet water pipe http://www.britishparts.co.uk/.sc/ms...-%20THERMOSTAT A member here said I need to buy new intake gaskets to accomplish this task, do I? Not saying I don't believe him but I have to see for myself, you know. Should I send this CD back and get another in case it's bad? Should I buy one off E-bay with a 100% opening guarantee? Should I ask some here to send me, from their manual, the section which will allow me to do this repair so I can get on with it and worry about the CD later? Should I ask someone to take my hand and show me step-by-step how to open this JTIS clam? All thoughts and help is greatly appreciated. Below is the pic of the CD. If you can help I'll buy you a beer or six.

Suppose you treat it as a computer-type problem.

You don't look to have given any useful data such that anyone could try to help. But, don't you have a tech friend or family member who can install/fix it? Maybe on another PC if it won't work on yours.

What operating system do you have?

The JTIS will not work on Windows 7 64 bit Professional or Ultimate without some fiddling. If it's the Home Premium edition you're screwed.

This is the procedure I found for the thermostat replacement in the JTIS

Thermostat 3.0L
Remove fuse 38 from the engine compartment fuse box prior to performing any under hood service in the area of the cooling fan.
Drain the cooling system.
Lower the vehicle.Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
Remove the thermostat housing.
Remove the thermostat.
To install, reverse the removal procedure. Install a new O-ring seal. Tighten to 18 Nm. Fill the cooling system.

I hope this helps you out.

Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, service pack3 Hope that helps. I'm not a computer geek but I'm not too dumb when it comes to them. I just don't understand some of the jargon.
I had an I.T. guy at work play try and he said good luck...LOL!
Sorry but my engine is a 4.2 V-8 so the part is partially under the intake manifold. I know I can do it, I just need the exacts because I can't afford to miss something and have to leave it over the weekend at work, so all my duck better be in a row or it's another week of no progress.
I think I'll just take this CD back and get one somewhere else, start over. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks much for your time, I truly appreciate it.

It should run just fine with XP, no drama here at least on my old machines. Try another computer?

I did, my computer at work.....nothing, it was actually worse. I took it back to Advance and got a refund. I'm now exploring ebay for one and this guy is selling them for under $3.00 and his rating is in the high 90%. I asked him a few questions and I'm awaiting a reply now. Keep you posted. Does your CD have the section to replace the thermostat housing outlet pipe for an '03 4.2 V-8?
