Just replaced battery
'06 s-type 4.2 VDP. The battery was original and giving no problems - yet. Seven years old, though, and his forum is loaded with cautionary tales about weak batteries. There were no problems after replacement with idle, clock, radio or any other settings that I could see. All I had to do was reset the window limits. On to installing voice!
Ya mine had a weird issue once with Nav, I checked the batter to see how old it was. It was pushing 7 years itself so I just replaced it and never had another issue! Some things are better to replace before they fail!
On the topic of power, though not the battery in particular, but, my alternator failed Last Thanksgiving. As a result of not having the proper charge, my car threw every code known to a Jaguar, Transmission failed, Park Brake Fault, Engine Failure on and on and on. Jag's seem to be absolutely dependent on consistent power. (Mike), my battery was 7 years old also. It's the same one that was sold with the car originally in 2005. I bought another Jaguar Battery at 187.88 plus new protectors and the labor to put it in totaling 240.00 because if I can get 7 more years out of it, I'll consider myself fortunate.
