Default Just replaced supercharger hose, now front bushings, need parts verification please.

What a month for my 2005 STR with 89K on the clock! The dreaded supercharger hose went south and $1600 later (with a lot of WYAIT parts) its now running like a top. I went to get an alignment and they said Noooo Way, Jose. Front upper and lower bushings and ball joints are too far gone.

I traced as many threads as I could here on the forum on the subject but have not been able to comfortably confirm that the same suspension parts are on the STR as on the base S-type. My mechanic says he can press the bushings, etc. and the parts are seemingly available from Welsh Enterprises or I can buy the complete upper & lower control arm set for $420 from Deutche Parts USA.

Has anybody bought and installed from them and does the STR use the same suspension as the NA v6 model? Thanks for your responses!

BTW, What other future fun should I look forward to with this automobile?

I think your questions would be best answered by the vendors you plan to buy from?

Hi Paul,

As tbird6 mentions, a good independent Jaguar parts specialist should be able to answer your questions. Our forum sponsors Coventry West, SNG Barratt and Jagbits all offer discounts to forum members.

You can answer these questions yourself by downloading and installing the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) from this forum:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uctions-48194/

The EPC makes it relatively easy to compare part numbers for different models, so you should be able to determine if any STR suspension components are different from those on the N/A S-Type.

Cheers,

Don

Just one more statement because Jaguar is a bit different.

Always give the last six digits of your VIN when ordering or looking for parts. Jaguar makes a lot of running changes that are only documented by the serial number of the car.
