Default Left tail lamp failure

Thanks for the approval:
heres my issue...i have a 2006 jaguar S Type. It has been flawless until now. I've gotten the left tail lamp failure message and left brake light failure message. I've change bulbs, checked fuses, changed socket panel, tried just about everything. I get the message to clear until i turn on the lights or hit the brake pedal and the message returns. I did notice today that when i tapped the lens the bulbs came back on.. Are the bulbs suppose to be tightly seated or once in they can wiggle a bit? I gotten and tried just about every suggestion to no success. Ive seen many posts throughout sites where owners have experienced this issue. Inspection time and i need this fixed. Thanks to anymore suggestions.

If they come back on by tapping you have some kind of corrosion or looseness. Remove the bulbs and clean the connections w/a strong cleaner and Q tip. (I'd use rubbing alcohol). If that doesn't work look for a local ground that is loose or corroded

Have you tried swapping the bulbs from side to side to see if the fault follows?

Don't forget to post an intro in the new members section.

This may sound daft and you have probably already checked this, but you need to make sure you have the correct replacement lamps. There are different lamps with different pin lug locations in the metal cap. If you get the wrong ones they may go in, with some effort, but they will not work as they should.

Which fuse number was the culprit..? Having the information for the fix available here will save the next owner with the problem some time and aggravation,

Thanks!
