Default Linea Corse Lemans wheels (BBS LM look)- 5 orders and they will make for STR cheap!

Okay guys, I recently made a thread about trying to get some cool and affordable aftermarket wheel company to make some wheels for our cars as presently our only choices are very $$$$ custom forged aluminum wheels. I found a make of wheels very popular in the BMW community that we can have made for our S-Type R cars if we can get a group of 5 buyers together. The brand is Linea Corse, and many of the BMW 335i's at my gym (including my friend's) use them. Google image search "Linea Corse" and you will see them on BMW after BMW, so they are nice wheels that look appropriate on European cars.

So, Linea Corse's distributer, wheeldude.com, says they will make them special order with a group purchase of 5 sets, and the best part is that they will hold the deposits so they handle the sale. All purchase money goes directly to them, so that makes it a safe transaction. This part of their website describes the process: Wheeldude.com - Professional wheel dealer.

The wheel I strongly recommend is the very European looking, traditional wheel - the Linea Corse Lemans. It is a tribute to the very high end BBS LM wheels. It has the look of a 3 piece forged aluminum wheel, but is affordable cast instead. Here is a pic:

(if pics don't work, someone please help me because I forgot how to post pics on forums)

The price for a set of four should be around $1,299.00 (give or take). Also they will come staggered for that aggressive look, and we can get them in 19" x 8.5" for front, and either 19" x 9.5" or 19" x 10" for rear (I suggest 10" wide if we can tuck them in our fenders).

So, before I contact a sales rep to help us organize this, I wanted to gauge interest here. If you guys are seriously interested, please reply and let me know. We need 5 people, but I am hoping for about 8 or so because some people may flake out (and thats okay).

So please reply if you are interested. I read about this on a Lexus forum where they ran a small production for five buyers, and the wait time was about two or so months so keep that in mind if you need something right away. Thanks guys!!!!!!

Don't think there is any weight savings on these wheels, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm interested anyways.

I do not know the weight of any of three different wheels offered by Jaguar for the STRs, nor do I know the weight of these Linea Corse wheels, so I can not say for sure. Although these wheels have the look of light weight forged aluminum wheels, they are cast alloys and any weight savings would be nominal per my assumption. They would be purchased for aesthetic reasons only.

Well this isn't going well haha. Only Pokey has shown interest. Lets keep it going though and see who else may pop in to show interest as well. So far the very short list is as follows:

1) Pokey
2) Under Pressure

The price is nice, but I don't really like the design.

1. Under Pressure: kudos for trying to get together a group buy for the forum! A very nice thing of you to do for everyone, even if the interest turns out to be less than anticipated, it is still appreciated that you've tried! Well done!

2. I might have been interested, but prefer to stick with 18" wheels, since I already have a few sets of tires in the proper size for the OEM wheels. Any chance they would include 18"s as an option?

Ya, I'd go with these, but I have my eyes set on a set of super concave wheels that I am saving for.

Nice! Custom forged aluminum wheels I presume? If so, remember these Linea Corse wheels will cost as much for a set of four as it costs for a single forged aluminum wheel. (Please please please join my list of possible buyers!!!!)

I think they have to run all the same wheels for it to work. I saw it on a Lexus forum and they selected the LeMans wheel too but everyone had to buy them powdercoated in black bc thats the wheel the organizer choose I guess.

Ya, they are going to be super expensive, but I don't think there will be another Jaguar out there with them. How quickly do you need all the people to throw in the money?

There is no rush at all. I guess we can all wait until there are at least 5 serioulsy interested parties at the same time.

Odds are if you're going from 18 to a 19 there won't be any weight savings...What is the weight of the stock STR rims, any of the three?

As far as 10s and rubbing, some might depend on the width of the tire...But if you want to be bold and go for 315s, now you're taking on a lot more weight...

Any chance these things would be available polished?

Only the lip is polished on their wheels. In 19" also available in gold or black, but I think this standard version would look best thats why I chose it for group buy

Great price, but that's a deal breaker for me...

I was toying with the idea of putting on some of those billet wheel adapters...Mustang wheels are a buyers market, you can get your dream wheels shipped to your door for in most cases under a grand...Will it all fit is the question...
