Default A little help with IDS please

Greetrings All,

Not a major problem, but something I'd like to get to the bottom of, and I need some assistance to get there.
On my 2002 S-Type 4.0L V8, I am occassionally getting the cars main alarm going off, horn blaring and indicators flashing. It's happened when the cars been stood for a couple of hours, or up to six hours. It's not the passive alarm because that one has been removed completely.
So after the first couple of times, I plugged in IDS and did the scan, looked at the security section and last 8 alarm triggers. All it read was "Intrusion Detection", but didn't tell me what sensor picked up the detection.
Am I right in thinking that IDS should tell me the sensor that picked up the detection, or is "Intrusion Detection" all it will report?

Oh, and on a side note, my mot is due on March 5th but as I was passing the garage today I decided to pop in and book it in for this week sometime. Would give me time to sort anything out if he found stuff. Anyways, bring it inside he says, I'll do it now if you like. So in it went.
And out it came again with flying colours! No advisories either.
Nice car said the MOT bloke, solid underneath and a nice clean interior.
Then we got talking about what I'd done to it, as you do............
Nice to know all my hard work wasn't in vain.

it won't tell you which sensor.

sensors are only armed on deadlock. ( double lock )
so just single lock it and see if it's still going off.

you can't clear the last 8. so what we used to do was set the same thing off 8 times so we have a clean slate.
ie open the boot 8 times .

Go to say THANKS to MelHookv12.
Tried his method of only single locking the car for the last few days, and so far, no alarm going off.
Still a little troubling to know that if I double lock it, it will go off eventually, but at least I won't be waking the neighbours at any ungodly hour for no good reason.

so it looks like an intrusion sensor. if you know your way around ids you can turn the sensitivity down and try that.
I think you can manually test them if you have the know how.

I'll have a look one of these days...............so far all has been good with just single locking.
