Default Lock?

I recently bought my first Jag, a 2007 S-type. It's great but I can't figure out how to lock the doors from the inside without the key in the ignition. Is there something I'm missing? (I know at some point I'm supposed to say "I know it's a stupid question . . . but I figure anyone reading this has figured that out.)

you have to provide a "method of escape" for the car to lock without the key. leave the sunroof open and try again. the car knows the top is open and will now lock the car. lol
ACTUALLY wht not just hit the lock button on the remote like I do

Does the button on the centre console not unlock the doors?

Why would you want to lock them without the key in the lock?

hmmmm, maybe a nap but don't like leaving key in lock?

On my car, the lock button locks & unlocks, as does pushing/pulling the lock tab on any (especially driver's) door.

Brutal, thanks for the tips. Although opening the sun roof sounds more creative, I think I'll try the remote.

jagv8, as to why, oh no real reason, just a little surprised when the doors kept unlocking when I locked them.

Ah but you failed to say that. You may have a fault, then.
