does anybody have or know of a 4.0 or 4.2 crankshaft that i can get? prefer a 4.2 crank but if you know of either let me know. and also are there rebuild kits avail for those engines? to include rings bearings gaskets etc

 

I have a 4.0 crank from a 2001 4.0 S-Type that had a damaged block (the car had 30,000 miles) I sold the pistons and most of the other components but I still have one cylinder head also. The bore and stroke for the 4.0 is 86.0mm X 86.0mm, but the 4.2 is 86.0mm X 90.3mm.
I don't think putting a 4.2 crank in a 4.0 engine will work(but I never tried).

Hello Motorcarman,

Can you send me an email about the Crank. Ive spun a big end bearing and im not sure if ill be able to get bearings big enough with the crank machined down and may need a crank. My email address is cmolenda@goldcoast.qld.gov.au

i actually found a crank already but i still need to find the rods and pistons from a 4.2. any ideas?
