Looking to replace mufflers with glass packs, wandering the size I would need?

I once, not too long a ago, chatted with a muffler expert re a different exhaust system on the V6 S-type; the upshot of the conversation was "louder does not necessarily mean better". The V6 exhaust note sounds good on acceleration, but on a trailing throttle, not so much... YMMV.
