Default It looks as though I have stumped you guys

I posted a thread in the tech section that no one was able to answer. So I'm going to try it here. I'm looking to buy some S-Type R calipers for my non R 4.2L Will they fit with larger rotors? If not what needs to be done to get them on the car?

Thanks Brutal. Much appreciated, as always.

@Catniped, if you have posted a tech question into the appropriate section for your car, ie S Type section, then give the guys a reasonable amount of time to answer it.

Do not post tech questions into the Forum Help section, normally they will be summarily deleted rather than moved.

For the best response experience, you are far better to make ALL your Tech type posts directly into this S Type section. The guys are mighty good, and if they are slow to reply, it is probably because it is an unusual question, as in this case.

IMHO, The stock factory engineered brakes are more than adequate for a stock engined car unless you are going to strip it out and make it into a permanent track car.

Perhaps some of the S Type moders can chip in.

I'm stumped due to it being in the wrong forum LOL

(I don't know the answer, though, sorry. Right forum now, so be hopeful. Go with Brutal's answer.)

Does the type-R stop in a shorter distance than a non-R?

catniped, I checked on your request...and as BRUTAL mentioned, you'll need the "R" brake brackets to configure the Brembo's. As Translator contends; the stock braes are more than adequate unless doing professional driving.

With "supper white HID's" too.................... sorry couldnt resist

SEMA 2012 i take it?? Honestly i dont think the STR is a great vehicle to do as a SEMA car, unless it is going into a wheel vendor booth.

Or to a car audio booth.

But hey you never know, it could turn out as one of the exotic cars of SEMA

Default I agree. In most cases the S-type is not a normal candidate.

Thanks for the input. I've picked up the all for "R" calipers. It came with one driver side spindle both rear's, break lines, parking break, parking cable, and the rest of the rear end of this 2003 STR for $700. Everything looks to be in great condition. Just missing the right front spindle if anyone has one. I'm going to need bigger rims. So if anyone is interested. I'm selling my 19" Vertini Riviera's for $1200. They are 3 months old with 90% tire tread on them. 8.5" Front 9.5" rear. I'll also sell my struts with mina gallery lowering springs already mounted. The struts have the automatic dampening. If anyone is interested, I'll get together some better pics of everything. I will be using the car in a wheel booth possibly my own. By the way, I'm also looking for an XF-R to do some work on. Also if anyone has an already tuned Jag, I'd love to chat.
