Over the weekend I put a new passenger side tailight assembly in my 06 S-Type. I noticed there was a 2 wire connector laying loose behind the tailight assembly that wasn't connected to anything. Anyone know what this is for??

I'm guessing that it's for hooking up to a trailer.

Possibly - but I doubt it. It only had about a 3/8" diameter female connector on the end, and, looks like it's designed to fit a small pin connector.

Could you take a picture? I'll pull back my trunk lining at lunch time and see what I can find.....

Look for a gray connector and wire taped up to the harness going to the left rear light assembly. That's what mine looked like.

I just called up the Jaguar service dept and they said it was for connecting up rear foglights for other markets. US market S-Types have integral rear foglights but other markets require the connector.

Thanks guys - that solves that mystery. With all the modules they've got mounted in the rear end of this car, I was afraid I'd pulled something loose when I took out the cracked taillight assembly.
