Default Low Coolant Warning

I had a crack in my radiator, and ordered a new one and new upper radiator hose assembly. Received the parts and made the change. Replaced the coolant (took 2-1/4 gallons as there was a small amount still in the block). All electrical connections are back in place and now I continue to get the "Low Coolant Warning" on the instrumentation panel. The over-flow the car is a 2003 bottle is full, and there are no leaks. I have checked for error codes and there aren't any. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks everyone. I have been using this site over the last 3 or 4 years and have been very successful in trouble-shooting and resolving problems as they have come up.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the car is a 2003 S-Type with 3.0L engine.

Thanks

Grant

Did you purge the system. Although you have a 2003 still needs to be done, not as difficult as the preface MYs.

I went through much of the same thing. Someone posted the directions to purge the air out of the system but I cannot find that thread.

I am still working on mine but it has gotten a lot better. I was told sometimes it can take a couple of weeks to get all the air out of the system. The JTIS is a confusing mess and I could not find it for you on there.

Basically when the engine is cold (I let it sit overnight) open the pressure valve and fill the tank to the full level.

Start the engine and set the inside climate control to high heat with the dash vents selected.

Once the climate control air is coming out hot turn the engine off.

Let the engine cool then refill the coolant to its full level again.

I checked mine this morning and I had to put very little in the tank.

I have never had a big problem bleeding the system but it does usually take acouple of trips with the warning popping up.
If you are sure there is no leak keep it topped up and give it a day or two.

No, it's the same thing.

The light is pretty sensitive, it will come on with only a slight loss from the tank.

Low coolant warning 2004 s type 2.5
Had a leaking tank (cracked nipple) Replaced tank ,everything o.k.for 500 miles
Pulled away sharply uphill , light came on and stayed on all the way home (5miles) checked level, all o.k. .Left overnight ,warning has not reappeared in last 200 miles ,suspect sensitivity of low level sensor.
