its supposedly rebuilt, so I have put in 3 solenoids with no luck, the 1st had the same issue, the 2nd was totally junk and the 3rd has the same issues but the mil light has not come on yet. when it usually would by now. It has to be some other issue..just can't figure what it is. There may be away to test it, I found a site where it shows all the pins definations but yet to find a way to test it

Well, it may very well be the servo-pin bore that is described in JagV8's link above, thank you BTW for attaching that. I had read that article about 3 months ago when I started diagnosing her transmission, but wasn't giving it a whole lot of validity until after doing the smaller stuff first that would normally be the culprit.

The LS forums are plauged by this issue and symptoms, but very few threads followed through with an ultimate solution to their P)775 code, even after repeated solenoid pack replacement attempts. Not once did I read that the servo-pin bore was the actual, legitimate cause.

I may price a repair using Sonnax's bore repair kit at a couple local transmission shops, i'll let you know what they tell me.

You know a couple of weeks ago I talked to a guy at aamco trans. and he said something similar about a ruptured piston..I guess he was talking about the servo bore and he also said it would be the exact same symptoms..anyone know how to repair it?

update: Just talked to a local tranny guy and he suspects it is the servo bore and would cost a load of cash to fix or he also said it was weird because I didnt get and gear ratio error codes so it may be electrical

All I did was post the link. Sorry but I have no first-hand data to say whether it's actually that issue.

That mechanic's statement sounds totally opposite of what the PDF literature noted. If I understood it correctly, we shouldn't be able to have a P0775 w/o another gear ration code triggered. But, you can have a gear ratio code and not a P0775. I find it hard to believe that we both have the same issue and be electrical.

BTW, when did yours start having problems? My mom had her gasket, filter, and fluid drained, but they left her 3 qts low on the refill, and driving it for 1 week after that gave her the message. By then, it was too late and when I opened her transmission back up, the oil was totally brown and smelled really badly burned. So, it may make sense that now her servo pin bore has excessive wear w/ low fluid and bad lubrication.

I didnt get a chance to talk to my transmission shop yet down the street, hoping tomorrow. What did you get quoted for a drop and new sleeves added?

Well i bought the car from my mom for 1000 bucks...and It seems like as soon as it changed hands I got the issues . Although I did uncover the infamous vacuum leak under the lower intake (thanks to joycesjag). The trans guy said like depending on the situation, it would be like 1500 -2000 to fix the sleeve. I doubt it is electrical, sounds to easy. But I'm thinking if I do anything else to the car, it's going to be just to get a junkyard trans for like 700 bucks..or just drive it like it is. It isnt THAT bad, but sucks to have a car of this caliber to roll around with screwed up trans.

I've got some news about my mom's LS, it turns out they did a thorough evaluation before pulling the transmission and found either one or both of the band adjusting VERY loose on the transmission. They simply tightened it/them to spec, checked the other bolts, and refilled with new fluid. After clearing the codes, they test drove it and no issues whatsoever. My mom picked it up this afternoon, drove it home on the highway and not a single light, message or hiccup.

So, i've attached a pic of the band adjustment screws to help you find them. (click on it for the large version) I never touched these when I was inside the pan and valve body, so maybe they worked themselves loose?

I hope its that easy on yours as well.

Thank u for this info. You know I fooled around with them a little and although I'm sure I didn't adjust them right I did notice a difference. This is good news and I'm happy for you getting it fixed. I'm gonna adjust them today of tomorrow and report back. I bet that's what it is after 3 solenoids and no change

I had all those symptoms you described. Finally the dealer had to replace my transmisssion. Thank god for Ford's ESP warranty. Everything was covered. If no warranty you are looking at a $3800.00 job. Hope this helps.
