Manual Transmission cars - USA market
From time to time one comes up for sale but they always seem to be early cars.
I'm happier than I thought I'd be with my S-Type. I wouldn't mind buying another if I could find a not-too-horribly-worn-out manual transmission model.
Cheers

Doug, as good as the 6 cylinder models are, the v8-engined S-Type is a different beast (in a very positive way!).
No doubt!
Still, I think a V6/5-speed S-Type would be fun.
I have a TR6 with a 302 Ford V8 to satisfy my urges for raw power

We have had a manual shift X-Type V6 for 20 years now, used daily. It is indeed a LOT of fun to drive, much more fun than the automatic version (which we also have), so I fully agree with you.
I've got one as my daily driver. A 2004 3.0l. Great fun and a hoot bouncing it off the rev-limiter. Acceleration is strong and the ride is excellent. It's a shame about the susceptibility to rust - I've just replaced both sills; outer and sections of inner as well as a fair section under the driver's side floor. However now that is done I'm looking forward to many more years of driving this roguish express!
They come up from time to time here in the UK both in 2.5 and 3.0 petrol. Manual transmission diesels seem to be more easily available
