i have a 2000 jaguar stype and the map lights stay on in the car all the time, and when you move the dimmer switch it doesnt do any thing at all, nothing gets brighter in the car or dimmer, can any body tell me if maybe the dimmer switch box isnt working or is it something else?????

Is it just the map lights on the overhead console? No other interior lights? When you say, "stay on", they never extinguish? When you shut the engine down?, While you're driving?

If so, suggest you pull the overhead console and look for a + wire short to ground at the console. Inspect the connector but also examine as much of the harness as you can. This is the simplest check first, then if it yields nothing you can move on toward the BPM.

 

its all the lights inside the car not just the over head, i had to pull out the fuse so it wouldnt waste my battery, so any ideas????
