I have experienced this problem with other cars, by the way you described it, it sounds like a MAF sensor problem..

Can it show datastream at all? Fuel trims specifically?
Take off the air boot from the throttle body and see if it is filthy?
Also the cat ineffciency code normally would indicate cat failure.
How many miles you have on vehicle?
Can you measure temperature from each tail pipe? Would be better if you have
infrared thermometer and measure cat temp.

I have only seen a couple of these, if everything else if fine(fuel trims, vac leaks, coils, plugs, timing, compr, clean tb)everything, then I will go for the MAF

The reason I brought up datastream was for the fuel trims. If when you drive it the fuel trims jump to 20% or so, then I would definitley go MAFS. If not, then more to figure out.
