Mobile oven

Hi,
I have a 1999 3.0 v6.
when the climate control is switched on i only get hot air from the vents.
it doesnt seem to matter what temperature i set it to i just get hot air ALL the time (Its Like being in a mobile oven).
The only way not to get hot air is to press the OFF button lol.
any ideas /
The flap motors all seem to be working as far as i can tell

The coolant control valve down by the radiator a likely suspect. Could be the control panel itself though!
The valve(s) can fail and so can the wiring to it. The default condition is open - which allows hot coolant to pass through.

Sometimes a sharp tap can sort it but usually when stuck closed and giving no heat.

Thanks for that.
I have read a lot about the heater valve but as you say nearly everyone has the opposite problem from me in as much as i get hot and they get cold...
All the controls seem to work ok and the fan speed changes by the temp i set it at. i will see if a tap works or not.
