Default Mud flaps

I'm thinking of getting mud flaps for my jag. Front and or back. I'm wondering what you think. Will it help/hinder rust issues around wheel arches etc. Thanks.

You can not fit Jaguar mud flaps on the front of an STR. They can be fitted on the rear.
In my opinion they will create water and dirt traps.

Please add the details of you car to your signature so we can all see what model and year you have.
See my signature below for an example.

Has anyone made one of the 2 genuine Jaguar flaps fit an S Type R? They would sit very low if made to fit...
But I have lots of stone chips on the sills and constantly cleaning road grime and tar off the doors and sills..
Any photos of aftermarket ones used?
The first set look like they could be modified to suit.

I recently fitted rear mudflaps to my 2007 V6 Auto. I did widen the hole at the botton of the bracket behind the mudflap (as seen from under the car) to assit flow through/removal of any minor debris. Everything there seems to be plastic.

I recall Jaguar say somewhere not to fit mudflaps to the STR.

Might be just the rear.

They don't say why not but I expect it's a clearance or such like reason.

For those that are interested you can certainly fit Jaguar front mudflaps to a X202 S Type R.
Only the XR853820 profile shown above will fit (second photo down of my previous post above with the 'Leaper' insignia).
On my car at least these do match the plastic sill cover profile and the front mudguard/wing/fender profile as well, unlike XR828879 shown in the first photo above (which have the 'Growler' insignia), which don't match the profile of my car.
So the front ones with the leaper that match the profile and will fit are from a later car than mine (mine is a 2002.5 year production; 'pre production' in fact).
The ones I fitted in the rear a few years ago I believe are part number XR828885. These have the Growler stamped in the plastic so they must be the earlier type mudflaps. The later type rears for the generic S Type range are part number XR847311, which have the Leaper.
So my car will end up having the later mudflaps which fit the front (they appear to have a date of 09/04 stamped on them and I did take them off a 2004 car) with the Leaper emblem and the earlier type that fit the rear with the Growler emblem on the plastic.
Do note well though that the plastic sill cap on my S Type R does not have matching holes that line up with the mudflap holes. Unlike the standard 2004 V8 which I took these front flaps from. That car had the corresponding holes that match the flap holes on the plastic sill cover. My car has no holes whatsoever in fact. So I will need to drill these in the plastic sill covers.
Out of the 3 attaching holes on the mudflaps only 2 of the holes appear to attach to the plastic sill cover, the inner separate attaching hole/point I am unsure at this stage where that is supposed to attach to; only the outer and middle mudflap hole attach and line up to the sill, which should be a secure enough mounting.
