Default Multifunction headlamp/blinker lever.

A while back I had this odd problem where using the turn signal lever was switching the head lamps between high/low beam even tough I wasn't pushing it forwards. It had become super sensitive. I just ignored it and that went away eventually.

Well last week another symptom developed. The RH blinker would not turn off unless you put the left one on. So I repeatedly move the lever up and down about 30 times and now it's been gone for almost a week now.

Anyone else have similar issues. My car has about 40K miles so it's hard to believe it's worn out.

Do you need a new blinker bulb? On some cars (don't know if an S-Type is one of them) a turn signal refusing to blink is often a signal of a bulb failure either in front or back.

Perhaps but the high/low beam thing went away and that was about two years ago and now this stuck on RH blinker issue cleared up rather easily.

If it comes back then yes.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this.

I will fix no expensive issue before it's time! LOL

You would be surprised how dirt can cause issues with movable parts. Not saying that its the problem with yours but try cleaning the stalk and especially the base. I would go so far as to take the steering column cover off and clean.
