Love the colour of this car and the wheels! Would be perfect if it sat a bit lower at the front though

^^^ yes would love to drop the front a bit more, going to investigate a cheap way to get a little more drop out of the front... might do something like a ground control coilover sleeve addition/modification to the factory bilsteins...

I'm still shocked how quiet it is despite having no cats... It idles and cruises super, super quiet... then when you stomp on it, it roars pretty good!

so do you get a check engine light due to not having the CATS in place? What did you do with your old high flow cats? want to sell them to me?

Hey sorry, the old cats I think were finished, so i opted to just toss them out.

The secondary o2's are not threaded into the exhaust, just put a custom cap on them, and have them zip-tied out of the way. the o2 bungs in the exhaust pipe are plugged off. no CEL's or performance issues. The secondary o2's are just there to verify cat converter operation.

Was hoping my eurocharged ECU tune would have disabled the secondaries all together... might ask them to do so if possible at the next eurocharged open house...

thanks for the info. I was opting for getting 200 cell cats but where I am at I am not required to have emissions testing. So no CEL light if I simply remove the cats and zip them up then. Cool.

The pictures you posted look like you are still running both O2 sensors though?

They tweak the fuel trims, too, so yours will be off a little. (Not that you likely care.)

I think the wideband primary o2's are the only ones responsible for tweaking fuel trims... otherwise having the secondary o2's in open air would have made some noticeable impact on engine operation...

You should get codes if they're literally in open air. Don't you?

The downstream O2s are apparently used for final tweaking so you wouldn't expect to see a big effect.

No CEL's with the o2's setup this way...

In my past experience of trying to eliminate p0420-cat-efficiency codes due to high-flow-cats/cat-deletes, the 'sparkplug defouler' trick at the secondary o2 would work well. A reduction of exhaust flow directly over the sensor was enough to fool that particular emissions-only monitor...

Recently, I've found that merely having it plugged in and reading free-air, is enough to avoid throwing any p0420 style cat efficency codes, or any other code, so for now, that's how I've left it, and it's been fine for the past 5 months. I would consider threading them back in along with a defouler/spacer, to have it looking proper undearneath, come inspection time.


It's not uncommon in aftermarket tunes/programmers, to have the option to disable the secondary o2's altogether. Will not effect engine operation in any way, and will test perfectly fine on the latest obd2-based emissions testing procedures... I'm fairly certain eurocharged can disable my secondary o2's if I so specify the next tune around...

Hi there your car looks fab as I have said in the past.I have as type jag 2007 XS model.
I have recently bought Factory Xenon's to try and fit to my car,but am having trouble getting the lighting circuit for it.Could I ask if you have it in your car handbook and if so could you possibly scan it and send it to me.Ill let you have my email if you have and would.I would be eternally grateful if you have and would for me.Many thanks

It's too hard to do... you'll be driving illegally unless done fully... expect MoT fail unless it is (but if you find a way to get a wrong pass then you'll still be illegal which affects insurance).

It seems a good idea, it's the reality that's a nightmare.

Ive been running with the anti-fouler trick on my STR for almost 2 years now and no CEL lights. It is the only way to get it to work on these cars.
