Default Nav DVD skipping?

I had something strange happen last night, and I'm curious if anyone else has seen this.

I was coming home and very near my house I hit a moderate pothole -- big enough to make the CD changer skip. However, I think the nav DVD also skipped -- the map features of the screen went blank (the location "arrow" was still blinking but there was no map layer underneath it).

Although this had never happened before, this makes sense to me, since a DVD could skip just like a CD can.

It came back after a couple of seconds, but when it did the destination location (my house) and moved over a couple of blocks! The "home" icon was still in the proper spot, just the destination changed. I'm trying to wrap my head around why that would happen -- I know a decent amount about how GPS works, but I can't figure it out.

Anyway, this isn't a problem that needs a solution (Nav works fine) just thought it was odd and thought I'd share. Anyone else seen this?

Again, the GPS worked fine (it identified the location of my car correctly).

The only thing that had changed was the programmed destination.

I'm chalking it up to gremlins.
