Hello!

My neighours wife own a Jaguar S Type 2003. Here voice-guidance in her Navigation system just stoped working. Tried to help her without any success so hopefully somebody here can help out.

The Icon on the touch panel with no sound has a red cross on it and can not be deselected. Next to that Icon is a "sound on Icon" that can be pressed but the cross on the Icon next to it does not go out.

Radio, clicksounds on the touchscreen, Everything works fine except for the roadguidance-voice.

Any ideas is urgently welcome!

There is a setting that disables the sound. If it's happened (somehow), go hunting in the sat nav menus. I found it eventually and turned my sound off (I don't usually need it and don't especially like it). Same place turns it on.

Also, try this: set a destination. Now look at bottom right corner of touchscreen. I can press the icon and it sounds what would have been the last nav voice if I'd had it enabled. What does it do for the one that's now silent?

Did the voice get turned off by a mis-aimed finger? I believe that there are two voice icons on the right lower corner of the screen when the NAV is active, one to mute one to un-mute. What happens when you hit the un-mute button. It should "speak" to you.

Havenīt been able to take a Picture yet. According to the owner the voicedirections just suddenly stoped working but could be fingertrouble ;-)

You are right, there are two icons in the right corner. One of them, the one furthest to the right if I donīt remember wrong has a red cros over it. When I press it nothing happens and no voice is heard. In other words I canīt seem to deselect the red cross. However if I press the crossed icon I think it blinks, a second time nothing happens untill I press the icon next to that one and again I can see a blink or something like that when I press it again.

Confusing description? Yes I know, but thatīs how I remember it reacting.
