Default Need help buying parts transmission fault

Hello,

I need your help. I'm not sure which parts I need to fix the gearbox problem from my Jag S-type 4.0 build in 2000.

With an OBD Scanner I got the error codes P0745 and P0775.

That should be fixed with a new Solenoid Pack.

So, this is my problem: I live in Germany and my technical english is not the best. The german forum says the problem is the "Schaltschieberkasten" that's the part with the springs which can be fixed with new Sonnax parts. I think in english it's called "valve body"

So, what's right? Solenoid pack or valve body or both?

I found a shop in USA: Transmission Solenoid and Valve body

Here's what I found Transmission Solenoid and Valve body - 5R55W 5R55S 5R55N SOLENOID BLOCK 1 YEAR WARRANTY

What do I need? The solenoid pack (especially for Jag with a wired sensor) for $ 139,95 or / and the valvebody (as a set including the solenoid pack) for $ 218,25

I'm a little bit confused, so I ask for your help.

Does anybody know this shop. Or is there another good shop where I can order the necessary parts.

Shipping to Germany is of course a must.

I hope anybody could give me information.

Greetz from Hamburg / Germany

Bernd

Your English is great!

The codes PDF is in JTIS (free download) and also in the "stickies" (threads at top of the forum). It lists the known possible causes for each code. The codes you have are about solenoids 1 & 2 and can be about shorts in the circuits or solenoid failure.

See what others say in case they have other ideas. 2 faults at the same time may suggest wiring - worn/chafed for example - or a connector problem.

Hello Bernd,

One thing to remember, the 5R55 is a Ford transmission, so the valve body (the part with the springs) should be available locally. With our current Euro to Dollar exchange rate, it still may be less expensive to get it from a US supplier. The link you provided seems OK, but I have never heard of them.

Here is a good thread to read on the valve body. It actually looks fairly easy to rebuild with new springs. Maybe go that route?

Hope it was a help.
