If you need to repeat the test, I had an idea. Rig up something (tape, etc) to hold the position switch so it still thinks the trunk is closed. On my '02, the switch is just to the right of the latch, on the bottom edge of the trunk lid.

I've used a plastic zip-tie for the bonnet switch on X202. Boot switch is on the bottom of the bootlid, that required a bar-clamp...can't remember, but I think I used an 18" or 24".

I mentioned I was surprised it went back to sleep with the trunk open . I had duct tape ready in case I had to go to the panel inside the car for the door button/s or put more time into finding the trunk switch. Now I'm going out to look for that button..thanks. I looked around and didn't know if it might be some kind of mercury switch or something. It wouldn't have surprised me.

. . . and just to highlight my fallibility when doing some research a few years back before the QCD write-up . . . my brainwave was to lock myself into car with rear seat squabs down so I could access all fuses without wakening car. Spent the next hour reading a book . . .

Pulled first main fuse; no change; but, the instant first fuse went back in, meter sprang to 3A, signifying car was no longer asleep. Rats! So . . . I do like the idea of fooling the boot/trunk into believing it is shut and locked but, even so, don't be surprised if you still run into same issue.

That is why I highlight JagV8's suggestion to leave all fuses in situ and measure mV across all suspects to get a fast lead on which circuit is drawing high. Then, you may need to pull only 1 or 2 fuses, followed by 1 or 2 "sleeps", to confirm the culprit.

Cheers.

Default how to seat reset after new battery

After new battery on 03 STR

1) How to fix/ reset seat for Fault code B2309 seat motor out of range? sry don't have the manual

2) Right thing to work on idling and driving at 30mph with 10mph increment for 3 minutes each to get Fault U1041 Vehicle speed not obtained? running 1 spare tire

3) B2477 code Control module configuration failure, what's that? I found small water leak into trunk where there are 2 modules, hope that's not the case, maybe just have to fix the first two problems and this 3rd will go away?

4) CD changer don't play 90% of the time now, it can actually go bad? Maps read is ok works 90% of the time.

please advice!
03 STR 160k and counting
