Hi all, I have just concluded a deal to buy myself another S-type v8 4.2. This one must have just about every option in the catalogue.

Looks great!
Missing the ACM and Bluetooth? No powered rear window sun shade and no front parking sensors.

And presumably your glass is always empty. Give a guy a break mate, you can see I'm excited about my new purchase, which is incredibly well equipped as it is.

If you knew how much I paid for this car, you would be excited too.

Normally speaking I would do, because I like sharing good news, but Clubairth1's reply really annoyed me .

Anyway, I would like to think that I'm a bigger man than that so here goes.

You've seen the spec, she has done 108,000mls and she was 1st reg April 2002 and she is a facelift (EPB etc) car, so how about having a guess?

And just to start the ball rolling, she was less than $10,000 !

Dave

I can barely keep up with Canadian values vs. US and understand why they're so much cheaper 'there'. This is a right hand drive car presumably built for the UK, but you live in France. Not knowing which country you bought it in and local values in either would make it impossible to come up with any sort of credible guess. Might also accidentally insult you if I were to take a stab!

Well ok Mike I see where you are coming from. The Car was built for GB so RHD, I will take a plane to go and get it in the UK.

And I paid.............................................. ................................£1500, or $2385 or Canadian$2460 on todays rates.

So, what do you think now?

Congratulations----sharp looking car.
I am very encouraged----I shall be 89 years old before my car has 144,000 miles on it(230,000kms) given my current mileage and rate of use!!!!

Just as an aside there is a 2000 V6 model with 350,000 kms on it for sale in the Toronto area---asking price $5995!!

I was going to guess £3000. Looks like Père Noel came early!

Well done!

Thanks very much for your positive responses guys, I know you'll understand when I say that I only started this post because I'm so delighted with the car and wanted to share my good luck.

The only downer is the delay between agreeing the deal/paying the deposit and actually going to collect it and have the car in my hands.

Patience is OK, but green S-type in hands is better !

Just been out in my 144,000ml S-type, the Gold one, and she still runs beautifully with loads of smooth creamy power.
