Hi all new here. I have been looking for a project car and my wife recently brought me an S Type which should arrive tomorrow but I have never really driven a rear wheel drive other than a Smart Car lol so can you tell me how tail happy they are and should I be careful.

What engine 2.7d, 3.0, 4.0, 4.2, 4.2 R ?

I have the 4.2 (non R ) not tail happy at all...guess it depends on tires..I have all season installed.

 

It's a 3.0SE on Pirelli's.

Mine's got "a bit" more grunt and is a mite scary on ice. Don't suppose Bath gets much ice, though. Look out for spilt diesel, it's dire. Otherwise, just be sane and it'll be fine.

If it's VIN up to M45254 it has one set of fairly common minor issues likely to be of concern over time. After that another set. Just go reading FAQs etc & older posts...

 

Driving normal, no issues. Now if you want it to be tail happy, very easy to do hahaha.
