No fan
Hi guys and gals
Any help very much appreciated as I know I'm being blind but it's doing my head in!
I have a 2001 2.5 V6 s type and it really enjoys overheating in traffic/stationary!
I have had a good feel of all the hoses and all are hot the radiator seems fine and I'm not loosing any coolant, but....the fan doesn't run...at all! After having a read around it seems the FCM is the most likely culprit. I just can't find the little blighter.
Can anyone enlighten me??

Mark,
The FCM should be right behind the radiator lower drivers side but check the fuses and relays before ruling out the FCM.
Definitely sort it out before doing any long term damage to the engine.

What is the age and condition of the battery? Check common earthing points and fuses as well.
Is the thermostat functioning correctly and does the engine have the proper level of coolant?

I did have it repaired by a local garage but they told me it is where the wiring loom from the fan went across the chassis member.A jaguar garage wanted to charge me for a complete fan assembly but my garage just mended the cut and then protected it from chaffing again, apparently it is quite a common fault,Sorry I cant be more specific hope you find them cut and get back on the road ASAP

One thing that I personally ran into: fan would never turn on...because there was bad contact right at the fuse holder. Blades of both the fuse and holder were oxidized. Sprayed both with DeOxit D5, then roughed both with a needle nose plier, to get to bare, clean metal. With a hot engine, it came on immediately. Try this before chasing ghosts or cutting wires. Might be just that simple!
