Default non standard tires/wheels

I have come across a set of tires and wheels rumoured to fit 2004 and up jaguars. 255/35r20. I am currently running 235/50r17 stock on a 2005 S type 4.2 na. Other than being chrome Lexani wheels (a bit flashy),with Pirelli rubber with about 10k on them what problems am I going to incur running such a set up? The price is right and I could use new tires. Thought I would keep the stock wheels and run snows on them for winter.

I can say this by my own experience with my 4x4 truck...when you change from the factory size you need to tell the computer somehow so it can calibrate everything for the new size...other than that I guess you might have to deal with clearance issues...not sure...someone will chime in with more than I know...you might even search it...I used my solus pro on my 4x4 to input the new size...these jaguars, electronically, are finicky from what I have learned so far if you do not do your research first before modifying anything...hope this helps some

The difference is 3 %, it is a no-go.

3 percent difference in diameter between the two tyres. This is way too much and you should not use it.

There's a real risk the offset will be wrong.

I no longer see a readily available "thanks" response so I will do it now by hand. The entire setup - 4 tires with wheels with less than 10k on the tires for an aking price of $250 US locally available seemed like a great value. I realize the 3% would affect the speedo and such but I had not considered the offset and possible stress factors. Probably not a great idea. On to new tires - should I start a new tire thread? Just kidding!
