Hi, could any one tell me the right oil to put in a s type 3ltr 2001

 

I have a 00 S Type w/ 4.0 V8 - oil specs are in the owner's manual - I use 5W20 (for winter months) and 5W30 (summer months) oil - I personally use Mobil 1 EP Full Synthetic - but regular dino oil works also. Many threads on this forum about oil (and I'm not about to start another!) - Hence, outside of proper oil weights it's up to you what you want to use...

 

As mentioned above, the owners manual will give you all the specs. There's no benefits to be had in second guessing them. The synthetic vs. dino oil thing will go one forever and neither side will ever win.

Use what makes you happiest.

 

I use Castrol GTX 5w-30 with no problems and I live in the desert.
