Hi Forum, I recently posted my tranny woes and I have a few questions. My tranny was rebuilt back in October ( for 7k I might add). I now have the 2 error codes, P0741 and P0111. The mechanic is replacing the solenoid on Tuesday. I have 1500 miles left on my warranty which was only 12 months or 12k miles to begin with. My question is, could the solenoid truly be the issue or is the mechanic trying to put a "bandaid" on it rather than spend the money, his money, replacing/rebuilding the torque converter? Also, what can I do to make sure that it was the proper fix? I don't want him to replace the solenoid, then I drive the car for 6 months and have to get more tranny work done...at my expense. I would appreciate any advice you guys can give. Thanks.

 

Could that be P1111? (Which is a status code, not a fault.)

 

No it says P0111...which is IAT sensor.

 

hmm. Reckon it's been written down wrong?

If it's really the IAT then PCM will be wondering how to fuel properly so fi it, clear codes and see if the other code recurs.
