Default P1647 code for O2 sensor

the o2 sensor was replaced (driver upper 02), and code went away. (i did have to clear it though).

It took me longer to put the car up and take off the panel under the car, then it did to replace the sensor. It literally took 2 minutes once i was under there.

Oh and as a side note, i tightened my 2 8mm bolts where the shift lever mounts, it was a good quarter turn on both.

Good to know.

You were a little lucky, in that they can be rusted/baked in and a real pig to loosen.

The code would likely have self-cleared after 3 drive cycles but why wait

I had similar good results with sensor replacement a few years ago but it was temporary. Every few months after replacement a misfire or O2 sensor code would come up and cycle (3 drives) off. Irratiting but never consistant enough to make a good daignosis. Finally a bad coil code came up and the coil replacement has kept the flipping light off for about a year so far. I guess the coil was just bad enough to upset the system but within the parameters for the coils for a long time.

I changed mine today and used a 22mm wrench. The car is much more responsive and it only took about 4-5 cycles before the light was gone.

It was under $91.71 with ONE day shipping and only $84.46 with two day shipping.
