Got a problem with the parking aid in a 03 stype, when reverse is selected a audiable tone for 3-4 seconds then nothing. It had water problems and now has a overlay harness installed correctly. I have check and double checked. My launch x431 dose not have the ability to scan the parking aid module if that is even possible. I had a used module installed and another known good one that I have swapped with no luck. My sensors are Clicking when reversed is selected. two sensors seem to be much quieter than the other two. Should they all have a very distinct and prominate sound or should they just be clicking. Any help/info would be great.

 

The module can be scanned but maybe not by the x431. AutoEnginuity will do it and of course the dealer OBD tools (IDS and I expect WDS).

My car's sensors sound quite alike.

 

Sounds like you still have a bum sensor in at least one of the positions, possibly two. They should all sound the same and it should be a fairly quiet but discernable click or ping type of noise. Sounds like you have done some good things trying to troubleshoot - of course make sure the connectors are completely free of any dirt/debris. I'm not sure if a Lincoln park aid sensor would fit? Anybody know? They may be cheaper than the Jaguar version.
