Did you perform the simple checks I suggested in post #13?

I have tried everything recommended. Hell I've even done a Navajo Rain Dance around the car and it doesnt change anything.

The only other thing someone recommended is to reset the module but I dont know how?

Any recommendations?

I suspect you have a wiring fault in the six-wire flylead that connects to the park brake actuator. Possibly in the circuit from the park brake hall switch to the park brake module. That is the part of the actuator that reports position to the EPB module. It is a pain to access, but that harness should be scrutinized for chafes or cracks in the insulation that allows corrosion to set in. Seems to me you have pretty well eliminated other possibilities. I also suspect that if the system were interrogated by the dealer diagnostic equipment, [IDS/SDD] you would find a fault code that would either confirm that, or point you in a direction to look.

Edit: I should add, don't look at the harness from a distance. You need to check each wire closely. A corroded spot may be tiny, but it will mess you up!

Cheers,

Well My tech has the error codes but they dont appear in his library. So we have the codes but no way to read them.
Here are the error codes:
Codes are:
C1801
C1802
C1803
C1804

If anyone can decipher them they would be my new hero.

Also thanks for all the help to all who reply. I really appreciate this forum and you!!!

Those are all the magic Park Brake Faults. What you should do now that you have put the new actuator in, is to clear all the faults and put the EPB through its paces and reread the codes once a fault occurs again. That may help pin it to a certain code or area. Attached is a diagnostic aid that may help.

Good luck!

Try the right codes PDF for your car (details you omitted), in JTIS or may be in the FAQs.

C1803 = Motor disengage full travel distance not reached upon release.

It's not that difficult to detach the outboard cable ends from the calipers. Pending a resolution of the apparent electrical difficulties, why not do this so at least you won't get stuck somewhere.

The first thing I would do now then, is do these things in this order:

Clear the faults
Disconnect the battery for several minutes
Reconnect the battery
Ignition on
Press the service brake and RELEASE the Parking Brake by pushing the EPB Sw. DOWN
Key off
Ignition on again [it should tell you to press the brake and apply the park brake in the message center]
Press the brake pedal and apply the EPB
**If you get this far, release and apply the EPB several times before you do anything else.

Now, see if you can key off and pull the key out without the EPB beeping at you.

If you continue to get the warning and C1803, time to get a look at that harness.

Cheers,

Default park brake failure

For me it was a 5 amp fuse in the cabin, the one having to do with communication of diag codes. Anyway, after replacing it prompts you on the dash to go through recalibration of park brake,
