Parts Compatibility for a 2000 S with Lincoln LS help...
Title says it all. I know some guys started a thread that they intended to list ALL of the compatible parts between s types and the LS, but it looks like they never finished it.
Just wondering exactly how much of the LS would fit on the S type, i.e. oil pan, suspension parts, etc.
Thanks for your time!

Very interesting that you mentioned the oil pan. I have both cars and continue to be amazed at what they could have used from each other but did not?? Take the oil pan as an example. The Lincoln LS has a beautiful cast Aluminum pan yet my 2005 STR has a cheap stamped steel pan like any other car. Why would the factory not use the better piece on both cars??
The main front cross member is another. The LS has a massive cast Aluminum piece and my STR has a fabricated steel one. The Lincoln has A/C seats which would have been a great addition to the wonderful seats in my STR.
I guess it is just one of those things!!

That is a bummer about your STR. Everything I have checked so far matches up. The only one I haven't been able to determine for sure is the cross member; it looks the same but I can't get any confirmation on it.
I'll definately update my posts on here to reflect exactly which piece I am able to successfully cross-over.

I started the other thread, not to build a catalog but for everyone to add too.
Whenever I need a part, I've gone to the lincoln side to dig. I've found the DCCV and the 3.0 intake gaskets so far. Oh and wheel studs.
Knock on wood, the Jag has been ok for a while so I haven't needed anything.
Please add to that thread, complete with part numbers and any fitting issues.

This is what I normally do.. Go to a website that sells parts, i.e. rockauto.com
Search for parts for a your year S-type Lincoln LS with the V6 or the V8 depending on what you have. MOST of the motor parts are exactly the same.
