Plastic Valve Cover alternatives
I am rebuilding my 2003 S-type R at the moment and am searching for Plastic Valve Cover alternatives.
New/being replaced items:
EGR Valve, fuel injectors, under-supercharger coolant line, radiator, water pump, timing chain, coolant nipple on top of engine block to t-stat.
With all this I would love to eliminate the plastic/brittle valve covers. New plastic covers are over $400 each. For that price, I was hoping an aluminum valve cover alternative that would last forever.
If nobody has done this before, and enough of us are interrested, maybe we could cover the up-front molding costs for the 4.2L V8 valve covers.

I have two covers from my 2003 that have become so brittle they are leaking oil through the very wall of the valve covers.
The left one is worse than the right, but both are bleeding.
The gaskets are good, but the skin, if you will, no longer contains the oil.
I did another web search for new replacement plastic covers yesterday. Now all I am finding is the left side cover and it runs over $500 by itself.
As an aside, I had this same problem several years ago on a V6 Lincoln. In that case the replacement plastic covers were readily available and under $200 for the pair.
