I have a jaguar s-type 2005. I just paid it off and its starts this. Has anyone seen something happen like this on they're Jag? The warning alerts also say....Transmission fault, park brake fault, Brake fluid low, EBD fault and ABS fault. Its in straight Limp mode now.

Ya, before you do anything else get a new battery, unless you KNOW that the battery is "fresh".

These cars seem to be extremely prone to odd effects when the battery begins to fail.

I'd still get it tested to be sure.

Then you should post an intro in the new members section.

Its an Everstart battery. I will definitely get it checked though. Could it have anything to do with the positive post by the front passengers side tire?

Did you fully charge it after buying it? For say 12hrs or so.

Have you done fairly long runs (at least 20 miles) often since you fitted it?

I drive it around 50 miles a day so I figured it would charge up fast.
I think I set everything up right on my signature. (finally)

That ought to keep it charged.

It's worth checking the terminals are clean and tight (but not over-tight), then load testing it just in case, as rarely they sell a bad one.

That should also pick up if it's OK but not being charged properly (bad alternator, poor connection, etc).

If both batt & alt are OK it's going to be a bit painful to figure what's wrong.

If your alternator checks bad, don't rush back in the auto-store and buy one of theirs - it'll charge fine and all...but you'll never get rid of the red "Batt" light. Have your existing rebuilt or obtain one from a wrecking yard. (Or buy the $400 or whatever it is, new OEM from the dealer...)
